I feel like the most common thing we are seeing in our industry today is people walking in with a wealth of information on all flooring types but absolutely no idea what floor is best for them and their lifestyle.

Now, more than ever, it’s really important for you to find a knowledgeable flooring retailer who can truly educate you on which products will perform best for your lifestyle. You may think hardwood is what you should do to keep up with the “Jones’s” on the block. But you might have three small children under the age of 6 and a large German Shepherd (yikes!) and they all should be taken into consideration when making this large and expensive purchase. Ask yourself: “Will this beautiful new floor hold up or will I be feeling regret when the hardwood doesn’t look like it did the day it went in?”

I think knowledge is great and truly a powerful tool if used correctly, so don’t be afraid to ask for help! That’s what we’re here for and what we are trained to do: to help you make the right decision for your home. It doesn’t need to be a stressful or a daunting experience. Do your research, but then let the experts help you do the rest. This an exciting time with endless possibilities!

Amanda Injic joined her family’s flooring business in Strathroy in a roundabout way. Her first love was the fashion industry when she plunged head first into a line of swim wear. She’s only come back to flooring recently, and when she did she was amazed at the selection. “I truly couldn’t believe all of the options that we’re now faced with! The flooring business is actually now very similar to the fashion industry in that there is virtually no colour or pattern you can’t find in a flooring surface.”
