Tile Installer |  $31.43 to $33.43 hourly. 40-48 hours per week.

Job Description

• Prepare, measure and mark surfaces to be covered
• Mix, apply and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue or other adhesives using hand trowel
• Set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to base
• Align and straighten tiles
• Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools
• Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout
• Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles
• Lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural and floor designs
• Build underbeds and install anchor bolts, wires and brackets
• Cut, surface, polish and install marble and granite
• Mix, lay and polish terra surface
• Install tile strips
• Instruct apprentices
• Supervise other workers

Requirements

Education: Completion of secondary school
Experience: At least 3 years of experience in the trade are required. If the candidate does not have at least 3 years of experience, then, completion of a three-or-four-year apprenticeship program is required.

Important Information:

The schedule goes from Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with 30 minutes of unpaid lunch and two 15-minute paid breaks. Saturday work might be required in the same schedule. Flexibility is required.

Flooring Installer |  $23.10 to $25.10 per hour, 40-48 hours per week.

Job Description

• Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered
• Measure, cut and fasten underlay and underpadding
• Measure, cut and install carpeting on floors
• Measure, cut and install resilient floor coverings
• Prepare and install hardwood floors
• Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings
• Conduct moisture, ph, temperature and other tests prior to flooring installations
• Prepare floors for installations
• Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants
• Install carpeting on walls or other surfaces
• Employ knee kickers and other equipment to stretch carpeting
• Perform direct glue-down carpet installations
• Perform double-bond carpet installations
• Install outdoor carpets
• Install resilient stair components (special effects for the visually impaired)
• Install materials on counter tops and raised platforms
• Install vinyl decking materials
• Prepare flooring plans and scheduling
• Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications

Requirements

Education: Completion of highschool
Experience:Between 2 to 3 years of experience is required. If the candidate does not have 2 to 3 years of experience, then, completion of a two- to three-year apprenticeship program is required.
